Y11 Leavers Service

Dear Parent / Carer, 

Reminder: Year 11 Leavers’ Mass 

To allow all staff and Year 11 pupils to celebrate together at the end of their five years at St Mary’s Catholic High School, we will close for Years 7 to 10 at 1:45 pm on Thursday, 23^rd May and we have arranged for the buses to come to school for that time. 

The Leavers’ Mass is a long established tradition and will be a wonderful occasion for staff and students to wish each other ‘good luck’ and bid farewell.  This year, our Leavers’ Mass will be celebrated by one of our parish priests on Thursday, 23^rd May 2019 at 2:00 pm here at school.  

Please hold our Year 11 pupils in your prayers as they complete their very important GCSE examinations and make their next steps in what we hope will be an incredible life’s journey for each of them.

Stagecoach strike action update

Stagecoach Strike Action Update

Planned strikes on Tuesday May 14, Tuesday May 28 and Friday May 31. On Tuesday and Friday strike days, Stagecoach has said that the following services will be running:

1 - Preston to Longridge

2/2A - Preston to Southport/Ormskirk

3 - Preston to Penwortham

4C - Preston - Preston's College

61 - Preston to Blackpool

68 - Preston to Blackpool

109 - Preston to Chorley

111 - Preston to Leyland

113 - Preston to Wigan

125 - Preston to Bolton

X2 - Preston to Liverpool

59 - Preston to Blackburn

721 - Preston to Christ the King School

Stagecoach also said that there will be "reduced frequency in some areas".

Stagecoach strike action

Please be aware that, due to strike action (currently) NO STAGECOACH BUSES WILL BE OPERATING NEXT TUESDAY 14 MAY.  Pupils must make alternative provision for getting to school on time and getting home at the end of the day.

Big Battery Hunt

School is collecting batteries for recycling as part of the 'Big Battery Hunt', please if you have any at home, could you send in for your child to drop off in one of the many containers around school.

Each time we book a collection we will be entered into a prize draw, winning resources for school.
